Japanese Diamond Stakes[edit]

I visited the Negishi Horse Racing Memorial Park in Yokohama a number of months ago, and took photos of signs describing the horses who live there. One of them, it is written, won the Diamond Stakes (G3) at the Tokyo Keiba-jo in 1994. But this article says it's an Irish race.

I know next to nothing about horseracing... happened to visit this Memorial Park because it was quite close to my house, and b/c I have a friend who's very very into it. Can you please explain the confusion/discrepancy? Is there a separate Group 3 Diamond Stakes held in Japan? Or is the Irish race sometimes held overseas, outside Ireland? Thanks. Long time since you posted this, but hopefully you are still around. They are separate races - sometimes races in different countries have the same names but they aren't connected to one another.--Bcp67 (talk) 09:40, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
