Here are the issues I found:

"and As of 2012" as of; I'd just remove the as of ideally though.
"Mirkin pitched to the series' story editors for several years without success, because" no comma needed.
"Mirkin had to film each episode in two days." was there a particular reason for that?
" to some the show's " some of
In the subsequent work section, three of four paragraphs start with "In [year]". Try mixing it up a bit.
