Untitled[edit]

Took out the bit saying the IRA used to train in Beggars Bush Barracks since the suggestion that a terrorist organisation actively at war with the Free State of Ireland was allowed to train in Dublin is repulsive. It couldn't refer to the Irish Defence Forces since the barracks has been closed since the 1920s. 62.56.51.184 19:45, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Touched it up a bit, but it still reads like a fan write-up. Anyone interested in doing something about it?

That would be me :) I have removed and/or replaced all the "biased" words and/or sentences from the article, but added no new facts. Leokennis 20:13, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I recently attended a Flogging Molly concert in Omaha, NE and one of the members of the band collapsed on stage. I have not been able to find any information about his condition. Can anyone help?

On the Street Dogs article, it says that Johnny Riox of the street dogs was the one that collapsed, apparently due to a seizure while they were opening for FM. Also, sign your comments with for tildes. Irish rover 00:06, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

citation needed[edit]

Most of his biographical info comes from the band's DVD "Whiskey on a Sunday". I'm not sure how to cite this. 66.222.18.102 17:41, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am cross referencing the section on Dave King (musician), the singer for Flogging Mollys who have a song titled Laura. I do not see any such reference to his dead wife mentioned in the bio. I think this needs to be verified. Gratefullab (talk) 17:51, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It might be nice to add a section for King's writing/performing credits kind of like imdb does for cast/crew in movies and tv, i.e. lists of the songs and albums on which he is credited as one of the writers/performers so that all of that information would be on the same page. As it stands now you have to go the pages for the bands he's been a member of and open the page for each album. thanks Prostetnic Prostetnic Prostetnic (talk) 21:01, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Place of Residence[edit]

The intro paragraph states, "He is now based in Los Angeles, California and is rumored to live in South Pasadena, California," however in the Roots And Early Life section it's claimed that he and Bridget "now reside in Ireland..."

Discrepancy, surely? Anylayman (talk) 19:07, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage[edit]

apparently Dave King is now married to Bridget Regan. why can't i find anything about this on the rest of the entire internet? we need a reference —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.57.26.212 (talk) 21:39, 31 March 2008 (UTC) Flogging Molly played New York city last night (Thurs. July, 31). Dave King mentioned on stage that he and Bridget were married in a private ceremony in Tokyo earlier this year. He then went on to say that they had had a proper catholic ceremony (he joked about his knobby knees and wearing a kilt) "here" (not sure if he meant the states or New York specifically) last week for their family.[reply]

Obviously my word of mouth isn't a proper citation, but there was press at the event, etc that you should be able to find verification

Put back to (Irish singer)[edit]

Dave King (English singer) and David King (drummer). In ictu oculi (talk) 10:07, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As the English singer is now at Dave King (actor) and there are no other singers at David King, this should be moved to Dave King (singer). I will db-move it. In any case, the subject's nationality is American so it is simply confusing. Skyerise (talk) 17:27, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification on Nationality needed.[edit]

There has been a change to Mr. King's nationality that I think needs clarification as it does not have any citation and the reference for change given in the history section of the page seems flimsy when it comes to accurately portraying Mr. King's actual nationality. I have attempted to find any reference to Mr. King's nationality in both print and digital search but have turned up nothing. The change was perhaps made under the assumption that Mr. King has become a naturalised US citizen but there is no record of that being the case. I suspect that the change was made under the assumption that the following section of ContextBio guidelines was applied.

where the person was a citizen, national, or permanent resident when the person became notable.

While this would make Mr. Kings nationality American by the guidelines, it does not actually follow the correct guidelines as the preceding part clearly states;

In most modern-day cases, this will be the country, region, or territory, where the person is a citizen, national, or permanent resident

Under this context Mr King would still be classified as Irish as he is a citizen and national of Ireland and while permanent resident does not quite fit the criteria as his main home appears to be LA from his own interviews, place of residency does not change the nationality of someone by the guideline standards. Just looking for clarification of this change before any further editing/revert is done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.129.86.222 (talk) 00:52, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article and the categories say he emigrated to the United States. He became notable after entering the US, with intent to stay, as the anecdote about not leaving the country as he didn't have his green card shows, which he eventually got so he is at least a permanent resident. The US is where he attained fame. Sure, he perhaps also has Irish citizenship, but that's not where he "made it". At least, that's how I see it... Skyerise (talk) 03:55, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
After due consideration, I have changed it to 'Irish and American'. Technically with the first band being in England, it should be 'British', but I'm pretty sure that would be even more controversial to some. Skyerise (talk) 14:43, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

73.145.231.177 Daveagusbridie has been removing additions that verified information about Dave King's personal life for their personal reasons and vandalizing the page. Protections for keeping the true and proven information in true wikipedia style is requested — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gcavalier (talkcontribs) 16:49, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The source provided for this information does not fully support what was added. The source ([1]) is an interview with Gina Cavalier in which she says that Dave King is her ex-husband, but no other information is provided, and there do not appear to be any independent sources to verify this claim. This should not be in the article unless better sources are provided. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 17:47, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
