Even though I dont really care that mutch personally I started this discussion now to reach a consensus. Wouldnt it be the best to remove the Croatian/German singer part and also place a German and Croatian female singer category on the article. It would look like this: Daria Kinzer (born May 25, 1988 in Aschaffenburg, Germany[1]) is a singer that will represent Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. With two categories for croatian and german female singer. To end atleast this articles endless arguments over nationality. Anyone without any knowledge of Croatian etc etc...will not understand a word of those sources. Whatever is supported by reliable sources (English or, failing that, Croatian or German) is fine. Here, it is important to understand that "German" and "Croatian" refer to citizenship and self-identification, respectively. I tend to think that the former should trump the latter as far as categorization is concerned, but there are no hard and fast rules here. She self-identifies as a Croat, is of Croatian parentage, speaks (and sings in) Croatian, so that might just be enough. GregorB (talk) 01:13, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm.. but how can I be sure of that? I only have Croatian sourcing and a claim of a wanting to be croatian?. All I know for now is that she was born in Germany and lives in Austria. Not really. WP:NOENG says that, other things being equal, English sources are preferable to non-English ones; it doesn't say that English sources must be provided or that non-English sources "do not count".
