verification or source please[edit]

It is stated he married at age 12. I cannot find the source that was used to verify the day he was married. What document was used, as his home burned up with all things in it. If a certificate of mariage was found at the court house this needs to be stated. If in fact they were married longer than anyone, we need a document to prove this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.11.140.229 (talk) 11:30, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The only currently cited source for him marrying in 1772 at age 12 is a blog (https://preacherpollard.com/2011/02/14/daniel-and-susan-bakeman/). The Daughters of the American Revolution source says they married in 1782 when he was 22. I am correcting the marriage year and deleting the statement about the longest claimed marriage. ... and that at the age of twelve he married Susan Brewer of New Jersey (who was fourteen and a half) on August 29, 1772.[1][2] Their marriage, at 91 years and 12 days, is the longest claimed on record.[citation needed] Their marriage was the only one to reach 90 plus years since 1863, until December, 2015, when Karam and Kartari Chand, of the UK celebrated their 90th Anniversary.[3][citation needed] Together they had eight children: Phillip, Richard, Christopher, Betsey, Margaret, Susan (born 1804), Mary and Christine. His wife died on September 10, 1863 at the age of one hundred and five years.
