This is a wikipedia article, not a template[edit]

Anther big problem. This is not a template, it is a wikipedia article for every person to read. We do not give instruction on a main wikipedia article. We cannot keep: *This page includes a labeled section to each ATP/WTA singles and doubles ranking. There are eight labels: *ATP singles race *ATP singles ranking *ATP doubles race *ATP doubles ranking *WTA singles race *WTA singles ranking *WTA doubles race *WTA doubles ranking *Each of the eight rankings tables can be transcluded to their target articles with the following code: #if:1|#section:Current tennis players rankings|label_name That would be improper use of a main article. Perhaps on the talk page, but not the main page. Fyunck(click) (talk) 22:08, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this. Qwerty284651 (talk) 00:45, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I moved the instructions to the talk page, I hope that's not an issue. ForzaUV (talk) 06:36, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I moved the info to a talk page box instead of the prose section. I hope this helps a bit. Fyunck(click) (talk) 08:05, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's even better. Thanks! ForzaUV (talk) 08:11, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ranking movers columns[edit]

@ForzaUV:, the "Move" columns for the regular rankings are good indicators of the wrekly ranking movers for the top 20. It informs visitors of this page of who had the biggest rise/fall in the rankings for each week. And updating is no big issue. With VE you just copy paste {{steady}}, {{up}} and {{down}} where needed and just change the numbers next to them. That really only takes a few extra minutes, which doesn't slow the updating process by that much. A few extra minutes for an updated rankings column is worth the extra mile. I won't revert your edit. I'll let you do it or if others disagree with it. Qwerty284651 (talk) 13:16, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Don't get me wrong, I like them but I didn't think they were necessary personally and I thought it would be easier for editors to forget about them. I'm not the one or even one of those who update the rankings tables so I'll restore the columns and leave it for the maintainers to decide for themselves. Best.
Edit: I see it's already restored. All good. ForzaUV (talk) 03:43, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Missing players on the WTA website[edit]

I checked the doubles race ranking on the WTA website https://www.wtatennis.com/rankings/race-doubles - I wanted to update the tables in this article. I see that on that website two pairs are completely missing - Kateřina Siniaková and Barbora Krejčíková, Marta Kostyuk and Elena-Gabriela Ruse. To me, that seems like a mistake on WTA's side. How should the rankings here on Wikipedia be updated? Should we stick to the rankings given on the WTA website as teh official source - despite the fact that they seem to be wrong? Should the update be with "correct" rankings instead? --Kompik (talk) 05:50, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Now they are included in the doubles race rankings. So maybe only the teams who played at least *two* tournaments are included in the list on the WTA website? --Kompik (talk) 08:25, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
