Curd Jürgens → Curt Jurgens – Per WP:COMMONNAME in the English-speaking world. The lead sentence in his IMDb biography states, "Curd Jürgens (commonly billed as "Curt Jurgens" in anglophone countries) was one of the most successful European film actors of the 20th Century." Unlike actors who had important supporting roles in English-language films, but never became stars in the English-speaking world (such as Rade Šerbedžija, credited as Rade Sherbedgia in English-language productions), Curt Jurgens played leading roles in British and American films (listed as Curt Jurgens in American Film Institute Catalog) and should be listed by his English stage name in English Wikipedia. — Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 02:00, 6 December 2019 (UTC)—Relisted. – Ammarpad (talk) 06:45, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If the request is agreed, it will presumably then require to change the name's spelling in the article. This needs to be done carefully, because some sources, including surprisingly IMDb, use "Curd Jürgens". Also, the lead will have to be rewritten. Name?[edit]

Isn't it Wikipedia policy to title the article with that name the person is best-known as, no matter if they have a real name which is different? Or even, as here, a real name which is different but extremely similar. Nuttyskin (talk) 12:46, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Curd Jürgens Citizenship[edit]

According to the information in the entry Jürgens was born in Germany (Kingdom of Bavaria) in 1915, and was a German citizen until at least 1945. Therefore he was not "German-Austrian stage and film actor," he was a German stage and film actor who changed his citizenship from German to Austrian sometime after 1945. 2603:800C:3944:BC00:8112:8863:B91A:3490 (talk) 14:13, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
