House of Reps Website The House of Reps IP keeps making changes to this entry that are questionable - mainly deleting the fact that Mr. Mack is divorced and dating a high profile celebrity.

Name[edit]

Didn't the original Cornelius McGillicuddy actually change his name to "Mack"? That would make Connie Mack his actual name and not just his nickname. The congressional directory lists him as "Connie Mack IV" and while it is common in the directory for a nickname to be used for the first name, I find it highly unlikely that they would list a nickname for a person's family name. Acsenray 15:25, 3 August 2006 (UTC) No, Connie Mack is still a nickname. His legal name is Cornelius McGillicuddy IV as property records and marriage records show.[reply]

Education[edit]

I went to Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia with Connie back in the Eighties. I'm surprised to see no mention of his attendance of MMA here. I was thinking of adding MMA to his education here, but aside from having him in my yearbook, etc. I'm not sure what other "proof" I need to show to pass wikistandards enough for its inclusion. That´s highschool, you will need the years of attendance or the year of graduation. If he did not graduate from that academy then that could create a wrongfull impresion but again, this is not a job application program. The usual manner is the following.

Education
Highschool Massanutten Military Acadamy, Virginia, USA, 198?-198?
Highschool Somewhere, 198? for the year of graduation.

(He might, after all, have transferred into the last year for a politically correct graduation).

Degree in whatever it should be, University of somewhere, Somestate, USA, 198?
Any other specialities after that because that seems to be of extreme importance. Can´t have a undergraduate congressman with pure talk and no bulls, or pure bulls and no do.

Some information concerning his standing to any and all residents in those nations he classifies as ´problematic´ and if that covers any and all NON-USA NATO nation residents residing in those nations. Secondly, his posture, as a high schooler, concerning reimbursement for billion of dollars to non-usa citizens in regard to damages caused by the USA in their war on terror. Especially towards the middle class everywhere. Afterall, Republicans of the United States allege to base their strength on that class. Very appreciative of that inclusion and/or the inclusion within wikimedias journalistic area.
PS: Virginia is another nation within that Union called the United States. Wouldn´t a highschool education in Virginia be somewhat problematic? He might have been brainwashed by the Virginian military to surrepticiously infiltrate for a future occupation of Florida. At least it is Eastern Southern Catholic States schooling and not New England protestantism.
Perhaps his standing on harashment of non-usa citizens inside the United States through 6th generation, advanced, surreptious ultra secret technology and monitoring equipment? Altercations section[edit]

I haven't been following this story so I don't know whether it fits the notability criteria or not, but even if it does, the "History of Altercations" section as written is way, way, way overkill (pun sort of intended). Furthermore, while this is information is obtained from recent media, this has been a campaign issue of his in the past. Many less notable public figures have similar sections that aren't contested, and in some cases expanded. I also doubt this would constitute tabloid journalism, considering the sources that can be readily found with a routine search.

What's the criteria for overkill? The relative size of this section to the rest of the article? Also, does the section violate NPOV guidelines? I really do welcome constructive criticism, but it would be lovely to see action taken on guideline principles, rather than opinion. --MadameArsenic (talk) 22:51, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Save the sarcasm, please. I'm not arguing that it's NPOV or non-notable, but rather that it fails WP:UNDUE. His history of physical altercations is legit, a blow-by-blow of every single one is too much. Arbor8 (talk) 21:39, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Are you asserting that this fails WP:UNDUE due to the content itself, or the design of the content? Consider the legal problems section of Darrell Issa's page. There are multiple instances of indiscretion and crime, yet this is not considered a failure of WP:UNDUE, so could it be the fact that each instance is marked up using quote boxes? In short, would you agree that a paraphrasing, or at least a condensing in design, of the content in question, would alleviate the concern of failing WP:UNDUE? --MadameArsenic (talk) 16:45, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have a big problem in that Mack doesn't seem to have initiated the physical contact in any of the examples. Are these watered down accounts? Was he even arrested in all of them? If not, it might be better to boil them even further down. "Mack was involved in several minor physical altercations between 1987 and 1992, a fact which became an issue during his campaigns for the House and Senate." Issa is a poor comparison as the charges were much more serious - firearms and weapons charges, multiple car thefts, and insurance fraud. A lot different than violating a club's no hat policy. This news article[2] has a good overview on some incidents.
