Focus on contracts?[edit]

According to "NASA Eyes Spacewalk Fix for Space Station, Private Rocket Launch Delayed".,

"Orbital Sciences holds a $1.9 billion NASA contract to make eight robotic supply runs to the space station with Cygnus and Antares. [...] SpaceX signed a $1.6 billion contract to make 12 flights with its Dragon capsule and Falcon 9 rocket."

I came here looking for more information about any other CRS contracts with other providers, and possibly details about the perceived disparity (1.9G$ for 8 Cygnus flights of ~1t upmass/disposal each vs. 1.6G$ for 12 Dragon flights at ~3t up-/downmass each).

IMO instead of having a Missions section, I'd expect this article to focus on the overarching contracts; missions would be more appropriate in the respective space firm/spacecraft articles.

NASA has only issued two CRS contracts. Satellite launches use ordinary contract. As for the price difference Orbital charges more per flight, which explains why NASA awarded more flights to SpaceX. Andrew Swallow (talk) 19:38, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's useful to have a separate Missions section as it allows one to have a better overall view of what has been accomplished by CRS without having to trawl through SpaceX and Orbital launch histories. Ga2re2t (talk) 15:00, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

However, the published 'Cargo Manifest', 'Manifest Summary' and 'Press Kit' documents usually don't specify the portion of cargo that has flown unpressurised. So the 'unpressurised' columns of the table will always be incomplete? Kcauwert (talk) 01:02, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
