poor name[edit]

Good luck finding a coat of arms of some entity that isn't recognized by some other entity. ¦ Reisio 04:54, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It matches the list of unrecognized countries article. Recognition doesn't really matter. Khoikhoi 04:36, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Nagorno-Karabakh Coat of Arms.png[edit]

Image:Nagorno-Karabakh Coat of Arms.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:36, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sealand[edit]

Even though Sealand is a micronation it fits all criteria of a accual unrecognized independent state unlike every other microstate, therefor I request a vote on the matter. I will re-add its coats of arms with a note that it is a independent micronation untill result of said vote is determined. --SelfQ (talk) 23:43, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A micronation is an unrecognised state-like entity. If it fits all the criteria of an actual unrecognised independent state - then it is not a micronation. Sealand cannot be both. I think the Micronation convention on WP:MICRONATION is against Sealand's coat of arms being here, so I wouldn't place it here (and, as my user page states, I support the Principality of Sealand). You could, however, create a page for micronations' coat of arms (if it doesn't already exist) and place Sealand's coat of arms there. Onecanadasquarebishopsgate 16:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as the vote ended prematurely with a 1 against 2 I would like to opt the creation of a supcategory as in this artical: Flags of Europe, for the coa of credible microstates. thought? --SelfQ (talk) 22:41, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You could edit this template...
...and place a link to a "micronations COA article" beside the "unrecognised states COA" article, then create that article and place Sealand there. More COAs such as Seborga or Atlantium (actually seals) can then be added to that article. Onecanadasquarebishopsgate 12:12, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have done as you have suggested. see Coats of arms of micronation states. I see now that this was a far better solution. --SelfQ (talk) 14:26, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tibet[edit]

As Tibet is not recognised by any country, shouldn't its COA be here??? {Mjb1981 (talk) 19:30, 27 March 2008 (UTC)}[reply]

it sould not in my opinion. Its a former country and its goverment in exile has clearly stated they do NOT want a new tibetan nation, they want to life in peace within the PRC.--SelfQ (talk) 00:15, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
