Notability[edit]

I would like to know what else needs to be done to establish "notability" of this prominent researcher. In the meantime an entry for a colleague of his - James Fishkin was promptly deleted. He is the leading figure in Deliberative Democracy and linked to (non existent entry) by a few wikipedia pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Varuag doos (talkcontribs) 23:05, 20 October 2006 (UTC) [reply]

There aren't any primary sources that establish Nass as a "prominent researcher"/his notability. There are no links to papers that mark any significant contributions to the area of HCI on his part. (Eg, Why is it significant that he was interviewed by BBC, NPR, and PBS? Tons of people get interviewed by them. What did he contribute that was so important?) The article simply reads like a resume with no justification for the statements made. It's a depthless list of the jobs he's gotten. (I do not think that establishing labs on Stanford campus marks notability unless the labs are notable as well!!)
Also, citations needs to be cleaned up. There are quotations and external links that are improperly used. External links need to be checked. The Xerox link is broken. This is another reason why this looks like a resume. It looks as though someone hastily added Nass to Wikipedia for no other reason but to have him on Wikipedia. What are these articles that link Clifford Nass? I've seen The Media Equation article, which is well below Wikipedia's standards. I'd like to read the other articles that link Clifford Nass that you think are so significant, because I suspect that they will share similar violations. --67.164.92.202 (talk) 06:54, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As to notability, he helped screw the public over with his contribution to Microsoft Bob. That is pretty notable. He is strongly disliked by technical people for that horrific action. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.194.62.140 (talk) 17:19, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
