Belleknowes needs to be taken out of this article and given its own article. Belleknowes is not part of City Rise, but to the west of it. Wipkipkedia (talk) 11:01, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the wat Dunedin suburban articles are done across Wikipedia, smaller suburbs are often grouped together in the same article, or one small suburb with a larger suburb: Forbury is detailed in the St Clair article, for instance, Lookout Point is detailed in with Caversham, and Normanby is part of the North East Valley article. Once enough separate information is written about Belleknowes on here for it to make a reasonable stand-alone article, it will be split out. For now, though, the best place for that information is as part of this article. If you want to help by expanding the Belleknowes section of this article, feel free - another Dunedin suburb with enough info for its own article would be a good thing. Yes, that makes sense. I think it would be better to include the Belleknowes section in the Roslyn article. I think it would apply more to that suburb. Your thoughts? Also, how much information is required for it to be a stand-alone article? Wipkipkedia (talk) 07:09, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Probably if it were three times the size of the short paragraph that's there it'd be big enough - the section on Forbury is almost big enough. Much smaller and someone's bound to come along and propose it for deletion as a non-notable location, so it's basically got to have something that makes it reasonable to have it as a stand-alone article. As for moving it to the Roslyn article, that would make a lot of sense and might well be a good idea. Grutness...wha? 22:35, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I will shift to Roslyn then if there are no objections. However, I'd still be keen to get it to a level for a stand alone page. If something is listed as a stub does it still get deleted? Wipkipkedia (talk) 05:19, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, stubs are generally fine as long as they meet Wikipedia's notability standards. But very small articles with little in the way of referencing or indication of notability are prone to be nominated for discussion on whether they're worth keeping. There should be enough information on Bedlleknowes out there for to be expanded into a separate article though. Grutness...wha? 22:43, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've included Belleknowes in the demographics because the link redirects to here and the discussion above did not result in any action. I am willing to redo the demographics without it and create a short separate article for Belleknowes if that would be preferable. Please ping me if any such change is required.-gadfium 04:06, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
