Requested move 22 August 2019[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. It was proposed in this section that multiple pages be renamed and moved.

No consensus. After five weeks and two relists, still don't see general agreement below to rename these pages. As is usual with a no-consensus outcome, editors can strengthen their arguments and try again in a few months to garner consensus for these renames. – This is the only article titled "Chuu". The singer lacks sufficient independent notability for her own article but is a related topic anyway, and there really isn't much else besides. Strong Support. The current disambiguation is horrible and incorrect (regional-only, not following WP:NCMUSIC), and indeed unnecessary. It is the only article and the other respective articles on the dab page can be linked in a hatnote. Lazz _R 13:21, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Moreover there's a whole pile of promotional singles for each one of this Korean girl band's members. If this RM was valid (it isn't), you'd need to do the whole lot. A further word on the dab page... Besides the single and the singer, the only other use is a dabmention for the Ghanaian village, and even this may be a bit of a red herring as Google Maps gives the name as Choo. If you still think the dab page ought to be kept then that's certainly a valid opinion, but it doesn't make the request "malformed". PC78 (talk) 23:35, 28 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support. The article on the singer in Korean WP is kr:츄 (가수), and it's thin to say the least. I see no prospect at present of the singer meeting WP:GNG. Chuu (singer) is a redirect to Loona (group), and likely to stay that way. The article on the single is thin too; I have some doubts as to whether it passes WP:NSONG, but that is not the issue here. It is the only article under the title Chuu we have, and that makes it WP:PTOPIC. ~~The DAB page will not be needed (see WP:TWODABS); everything else can be dealt with in hatnotes (including {{distinguish|Chu (disambiguation){{!}}Chu}} for the possible misspelling)~~.

Note 1. I have changed the link on the current DAB page from Loona (group) to Chuu (singer). The redirect exists; we might as well use it for as long as the DAB page is a DAB page.

Note 2. ~~If the move is made, the redirect Chuu (disambiguation) will need to be deleted (it could be speedied under WP:G6)~~.

Note 3. At the conclusion of this discussion, whatever the outcome, Chuu should be added to the DAB page Chu as a see-also. I have not added it for a technical reason: while Chuu remains a DAB page, per WP:INTDAB the link would have to be through Chuu (disambiguation). To editor Narky Blert: another "Chuu" has been added to the dab page, so even if editors decide that these page moves should be made and the single album becomes the ptopic, the dab page will still be a valid dab page. Also, I think it's okay according to the guideline, MOS:DAB, to use a redirect on dab pages when it targets a section in an article that describes the subject of the redirect. P. I. Perhaps, and you should of course revert me if you feel it's necessary. If there is concensus to at least keep the dab page then so be it, but IMHO padding it out with supposed alt spellings of dab mentions is a pretty weak justification. PC78 (talk) 14:16, 9 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose Added Bardo to the dab page based on my recent edit to that article (though even before I edited it, the body already mentioned the name Chuu -- albeit in kanji only, not in romanisation). I also think that all these single-of-the-month permastubs would best be handled by merging to Loona (group) discography#Single albums.
