I followed the link to the reference where the authors say they don't mind if episodes are downloaded for free and the page is missing. Anyone knows something?

Creed[edit]

Creed is NOT a Christian rock band

Actually, I think they said that Creed started off as a Christian Rock band. besides, what's done is done, and there's nothing you can do to change what they did with the episode.

Is there any citation for Faith +1 being a reference to One Plus? Always sounded more like a D&D / generic video game reference to me, maybe because I've never heard of One Plus.

Which Epi?[edit]

Is it episode 105 or 709? The page says it's both.

It's both. Episode 09 of series 7, and the 105th episode altogether. I think!

Butters[edit]

In the plot summery it says that at the end of the episode Butters farts in Cartman's face and gives him the finger. Is that the first time ever where Butters stood up to Cartman? And if so, is that worthy of noting in the trivia section? Quixoto 07:23, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not very clear, he still looked very innocent and reluctant when he flipped Cartman off and swore at him. Moreover Cartman did not abuse (well, actually once, but that's because Butters spoiled a transaction) or trick on Butters in this episode. Wikipedia Censorship?[edit]

Why come, in this article, Cartman's line about Jesus is censored, but Butters' line to Cartman isn't?

Excessive trivia?[edit]

Someone re-added the tag. I agree with the tag being removed. Consider it removed again.

An encyclopaedia is not a collection of trivia, so any 'trivia' is excessive.
And the trivia has come back;
  • When Cartman runs to find Token and Butters, the music from that part is from the game Heroes of Might and Magic III.
  • Having Lars Ulrich affected by music piracy refers to the then-recent Napster case, in which Ulrich's band (Metallica) sued the website for copyright infringement.
  • The scene in which Sergeant Yates shows the boys the effects of Music Piracy is reminiscent of A Christmas Carol, in which the Ghost of Christmas Spirit shows Ebenezer Scrooge what Christmas Spirit is really like.
  • Faith + 1 is a parody of the Christian boy-band, "Plus One" and old school hip hop band "Funky Four Plus One".
  • The Faith Records headquarters looks similar to the Capitol Records building in Hollywood.

Summary, not transcript[edit]

The plot summary is way to detailed, down to almost the entire conversation at the end of the episode. The broad strokes should be given, but the detail is unnecessary and at least slightly problematic as the show bleeps out instances of 'fuck' while the summary leaves them in. WP is not censored and can certainly contain spoilers, but this amount of verbatim and info is almost transcriptual (that's right, I made it up, but it sounds good). Faith +1 Songs[edit]

Aren't the faith +1 songs remakes of other love songs that have been made? Wouldn't it make sense to put those song names in this article along with the faith +1 songs, just for reference?

Simpsons reference?[edit]

In the Simpsons episode I'm Goin' to Praiseland they give the reverse of the change-baby-to-Jesus rule:

Flanders: So uh, where's your band?
Rachael: They switched from Christian music to regular pop. All you do is change "Jesus" to "baby".

So is South Park referencing the Simpsons (of whose episode came first), or is it just a well known rule? And if it's a reference how would you add it to the article?

This episode is one of the most significant pieces of satire on the cultural phenomenon that is "Contemporary Christian music". I hope someone with the relevant interests and expertise can add a section to the article about how the episode was received, both by professional critics and by other commentators.
