Are EastEnders viewers ready for a realistic gay character? Not sure how usable this is but I especially like the line "He is good news, because he brings EastEnders a step closer to more accurately resembling London." anemoneprojectors 15:54, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"EastEnders to air new bisexual storyline" has a tiny bit about his reception, didn't seem worth adding to the article on its own. anemoneprojectors 19:23, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Picture Please[edit]

I know this commment is practicaly pointless but can someone please update the picture of Christian? I'm not sure how to do it myself and I'd be afraid that I would mess the page up. I just think that the picture on the page doesn't do him justice but then again it's not the picture that's important. 89.125.165.60 (talk) 21:20, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Development - relationship with Syed[edit]

Is there anything in Syed's article that can be used in this one? We probably shouldn't go into the religious side of it here though, or should we? Aside from that, here is a cute little interview with John Partridge on what's going on inside Christian's head. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 21:05, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not in as much detail, but it is still relevant to discuss the muslim aspect, I think.GunGagdinMoan 22:57, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

John Patridge is shocked at how positive the reaction to his gay ‘EastEnders’ storyline has been - I think the quote from Partridge should be included to show that the current gay storyline is also getting support. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.100.169.126 (talk) 11:55, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

People aren't seriously calling the storyline "Chryed" are they? AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:52, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here is another interview with John Partidge that we could use. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 15:48, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gay Kiss Drama[edit]

I was reading all these articles about the soap opera controversy about gay plots that has dominated gay news recently. This one was widely reported on wordwide. Has it been added yet, I didn't check.

I'm not really sure it belongs here. –anemoneprojectors– 10:15, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
An image of Christian was used - which caused trouble. It has nothing to do with development - reception - Facebook didn't like an image of him kissing, but later apologised.Rain the 1 BAM 13:07, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It could have been a picture of anyone though. –anemoneprojectors– 17:12, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But in this case it was Christian.. when I have time I'll add it.Rain the 1 BAM 00:09, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It says more about Facebook than Christian. I don't think the subject of the photo matters. They weren't criticising something in the programme, they just removed a photo of two men kissing. They would have removed it no matter who it was. –anemoneprojectors– 10:30, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is he still listed as being in?[edit]

I thought he left Walford, as the character. I assumed that once a character is not seen onscreen, they're "past characters". Also, he will be back by January 2012 -- there's a script peak on the official site from the episode dated January 3, 2012--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 02:35, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

JP is still part of the cast - he has not officially left. It is not a notable absence - He won't make any appearences in the show for a small number of weeks.RaintheOne BAM 03:56, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lucy funeral[edit]

Whoever made the edit, why are you so sure he will only be appearing in one episode? It's likely the week of Lucy's funeral will be dominated by the storyline and therefore it could potentially span over more than one episode like Frank's did. Just because he is back for the funeral does not mean it is one episode. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.0.101.244 (talk) 23:08, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Classification[edit]

Should we change this to "Former; regular" now?

I know JP tweeted and said he would be back but I've just checked the BBC website for something else and Christian is now listed as a past character. Whereas Grant, who is definitely returning, is listed as a current character. I'm going to guess that JP will return at some point but even he probably does not know when yet.

Or do we leave it as "Present; regular" like we have done with Jean Slater given that he always seems to return?--5 albert square (talk) 00:21, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The EE website could be wrong, so we could do a Jean Slater on Christian for now. anemoneprojectors 10:59, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just to clarify, that means applying the "one-year rule" for recurring characters that was agreed on by consensus a few years back for WikiProject EastEnders, meaning that Christian will not be changed to a past character until a year since his last appearance. anemoneprojectors 22:51, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And the reason for that is that characters like Christian, Libby and Jean make unannounced returns and departures. We could discuss it to un-apply the rule to Christian, but remember that Christian has returned in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Also, just changing "present" to "former" in the infobox isn't good enough - it requires linking to the appropriate section of List of past EastEnders characters, moving him from the present list of characters to the past list, adding a last episode to his infobox (date and episode number), moving him from present to past in the navigation template, and changing "present" to "past" on the navigation template in his article. anemoneprojectors 23:13, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
