Plot holes - criticism needed for reception section[edit]

I just finished watching this movie yesterday and it was one of the best westerns I've ever seen; however, the climax had plot holes and the feel-good dinner scene at the very end left me unhappy. I would therefore like editors to be on lookout for any citable reviews or cast interviews for the article's Reception section that might explain or provide criticism of the following:

Why did the sheriff set the general store/bank on fire just across the street from them when it had dynamite in it. No one in the store bothered to shout out that fact as a reason not to torch the building. Wouldn't dynamite explode in a fire?

How did the fire jump to the building across the street where John Wayne and Forrest Tucker had their epic fight?

Why did no one bother to organize a fire brigade at the end? With the town burning and dynamite inside, they just stood around looking pensive for the camera.

The biggest omission is the lack of mention at the end of what happened to Linda Day's character, whose lawyer-storekeeper husband, played by Andrew Prine, was killed in the gunfight. They could have said she went back east, but there was nothing. I'm wondering if there is a scene that was cut out of the movie at the end because they wanted to end on a high note. Her character just disappears. Maybe Linda Day gave an interview somewhere. She married castmate actor Christopher George a few months before Chisum was released.

I'd like to know if any movie reviewers or cast members commented on these problems in an otherwise excellent film. 5Q5 (talk) 17:26, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warner Bros. logo[edit]

What about the unique WB logo at the start of the movie.

I don't recall seeing it any other time.

Would that be considered unique enough to be mentioned somewhere in the article?
