Cheryl No Longer Dating Matthew Lawrence[edit]

Reference Here from TV Guide: Cheryl Burke no longer dating Matthew Lawrence. This information needs to be corrected, as their relationship is mentioned in this article.

NPOV[edit]

I am thinking of putting a {{NPOV}} tag on the article. There are too many violations. Also a lot of references are needed:

  • She is best known for.." (lead) - If it is said without a reference, it shows as someone editors opinion. While it might be a polular notion, it is best avoided under WP:AWW.
  • Early life section: Make sure facts are properly referenced. If needed, repeat the ref. (I couldn't verify, the ref failed to open on my comp).
  • For Cheryl, dancing is a way of life. It provides a medium for her to express her inner feelings and passion all the while maintaining focus and composure during extremely high-pressure situations. It is dancing that has made her such a competitor (both on and off the floor) and made her strive for perfection in anything that she sets out to do (Dancing) - This reads like an NPOV unencyclopediac commentary. Best removed or reworded - keeping the fact "She is very passionate about dancing".
  • Cheryl says that her dancing style is unlike anyone else's. She takes pride in being a "rule breaker" and feels that her greatest achievements in dancing are still to come (Dancing) - needs a ref.
  • Burke made Dancing with the Stars franchise history by becoming the first professional dancer to win two championships... (Dancing with the stars) - needs ref.
  • Needs ref for other two sections as well.

I am refraining from slapping any tags for now. Wish you the best with the article. --soumtalk 08:02, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree there are a substantial number of WP:NPOV problems throughout the article - it looks far too much like a fan site at this point, or even, considering her professional career, like a violation of WP:ADVERT Gonna slap some tags on here, and hope someone can do some cleanup. -- Bradfordschultze 01:10, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I put a POV-check on the article as many of the issues above have not been addressed in the last year and half. Also, she was nominated for Emmys in what category? Needs a reference.OwenSaunders (talk) 00:38, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How tall is she?[edit]

I thought she was a 100% refined looking Philipina. Most Philipinos have African American looking noses. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.240.34.210 (talk) 22:41, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Someone needs to do some research *g* --IceHunter (talk) 23:35, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Her views on abortion[edit]

Is anyone out there who could provide us with a good source of information on her stance on abortion? It just seems that she believes it's good for you.80.232.241.132 (talk) 09:48, 28 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A lot needs to be done with this article. The Dancing sections reads like an unencyclopediac PoV commentary. Plus it needs a lot of references. --soumtalk 07:51, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup tags[edit]

I tagged a few things in the article and I wanted to explain. The last paragraph in the DWTS section has some very idiosyncratic statistics. Most of them are not referenced and don't appear to be particularly significant. Also, the 2014 bikini pic was not a big controversy or story and currently it is just dropped in the article with no context. Burke's weight has been a more extensive story in the media and that is not mentioned. Either the more widely covered weight controversies should be included or the 2014 story should not. I lean towards the latter as it is a delicate topic that would need to be covered carefully to be respectful. Finally, I didn't tag it but personal life appears to have some professional endeavors mixed in. Knope7 (talk) 23:02, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I finally removed some of the idiosyncratic statistics. I also tagged some of the more questionable statements as needing citations. This article is in serious need of better sourcing. This page probably needs a BLP sources tag for the whole thing. If anyone who has edited this page has questions regarding how to go about improving the sourcing, please feel free to ask.
