Untitled[edit]

Charlotte Riefenstahl (Houtermans) passed away on January 6, 1993 in Northfield, Rice County, Minnesota, USA. In the report Frenkel, V.J. (2011), "Professor Friedrich Houtermans – Arbeit, Leben, Schicksal. Biographie eines Physikers des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts" of the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, preprint 414, it is mentioned by the author (see footnote 120, p. 105, text in German):

In the northfieldnews.com I found the following notice [1];

"... Charlotte Houtermans, 93, died Jan. 6 in Northfield, a few days after fracturing her hip. She had lived in Northfield seven years after spending most of her life in Europe. A physicist, she worked with many of the great physicists of the 20th century. She was able to escape Russia and come to the United States where she taught in large Eastern colleges before moving to Northfield to be near her daughter, Giovanna Fjelstad."
