Turkey in the Straw?!?!?![edit]

This song is a much stronger reference to "Do your ears hang low?" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_Your_Ears_Hang_Low%3F 96.41.10.91 (talk) 03:21, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Citation for Minstrel show origins[edit]

  • Lucas, Demetria. "Shock & Awe." The Source November 2006: 24-25.

It's an article from The Source magazine, the one with Xzibit or Jim Jones on the cover (there were two covers for that issue). Brad T. Cordeiro 01:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And that's the reference for Byron Crawford. - Brad T. Cordeiro 20:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Mont's version[edit]

Lil Mont's "Chain Hang Low" came out in 2002, was produced by DJ Beats from Da Beatstaz (same producer as Jibbs version) and 11-year-old Jibbs was one of the kids chanting the chorus on the original song. In fact, a very young Jibbs rapped a verse on the remix along with Murphy Lee of the St. Lunatics. 4 years later he would come out with his own version, also produced by DJ Beats, and would feature Lil Mont on the remix. So it is not a controversial "bite" but rather a throwback to the "old" song from the same people involved. I have no sources to cite other than my own memory so I'm putting this in talk.
