"Mixed reviews"?[edit]
Earlier, I removed a claim of "mixed reviews" from another article as it was synthesis. That article had a Rotten Tomatoes score of 29%. This article, citing an article from before the film's release that does not say "mixed", also said mixed reviews, apparently "summarizing" RT's 69%. It would seem that "mixed" is a very broad word. Maybe 29% should have been "mostly negative" and 69% is "mixed". Maybe both are "mixed". Maybe 29% is "mixed" and 69% is "mostly positive". Maybe there are muddled phrases we can cook up and neither one is "mixed".
Maybe it's based on Metacritic's mechanically applied "mixed or average". In this case, you will need to contact Metacritic and explain to them that "average" means exactly the same thing as "mixed" (it doesn't)and therefore is not necessary. Additionally, you'll need to somehow explain that you mean the critics surveyed by Metacritic, not "critics". By this point, it's probably best to say something like "On Metacritic, the film has a score of 52 out of 100 based on 35 critics, indicating 'mixed or average reviews'."
Maybe you are combining the RT score and the Metacritic score.
