Hollywood Babylon

This article seems to be currently a collection of saucy gossip stories.

And AFAIK the term was popularised by the book Hollywood Babylon. 12:13, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

It appears like the majority of these claims are backed up with a source. There is no way an accusation of a living person could appear on Wikipedia without adequate citation. Wiki is very careful with BLP. 69.125.134.86 (talk) 19:14, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Casting Couch

Reading a lot of bios of actors from Hollywood's "Golden Age" on Wikipedia, I came across this practice a lot (especially about Darryl Zanuck) but I was surprised to come to the Casting Couch page and actually see people be named.

It must be seriously egregious behavior for victims to come forward and admit to participating in this behavior to obtain a role. I mean, it not only makes the casting person/director/producer look like a predator but it makes it appear as though that's the reason the victim received their part.

I think, it's probably more true, that sexual favors were asked for, delivered, and then the actor/actress never got a part at all. It's sad to read here that this practice still goes on (especially with children). 69.125.134.86 (talk) 19:11, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
