Why would you remove "legendary"? It's not like it's controversial. That might not have the right ring, but there should be something that indicates the Stanleys were not just A bluegrass band, but one of the most influential of all time.

Carter Stanley is not "legendary"; he was a historical person, not part of a legend. If you feel that the Stanley Brothers were one of the most influential bluegrass bands, put that in the article (be sure to cite someone).
