Background and composition[edit]

I don't think the interpretation of the lyrics should be included in the article since that is only speculation. Nobody besides Del Rey herself can say what the lyrics mean. teammathi 18:41, 9 August 2012 (CET) In the description of the music video, Del Rey wrote that it's a biopic. I don't think the song is about "LA celeb party girls" but about Del Rey herself. I don't think interpretations of the song should be included in an encyclopedic article. marie (talk) 13:30, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I have to say that I agree that whoever wrote this article made up all that crap about the song being written specifically about Lindsay and Paris. Besides, Del Rey has talked about how Britney Spears has inspired her in specific interviews. So it would be Brit if anyone who inspired the song. But it wasn't even Brit, but rather Del Rey writing about her own experiences. - Justin — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.78.211.61 (talk) 07:40, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

I located this http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/earshot/lana-del-rey-carmen-video-315055 source. Since it's published by Prometheus Global Media (the owner of Billboard', it seems reliable. I don't have time to expand the article with it right now, but it's here for anyone who's interested. --Thevampireashlee (talk) 22:11, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Carmen (song)Carmen (Lana Del Rey song) – Confusing title since a carmen is a song, although the carmen article is at carmen (verse). That aside there are many other songs at Carmen (disambiguation) but the principle problem here is that "carmen" itself means song. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:52, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - yeah, that's a problematic title! smile Good job. Red Slash 17:34, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
