WIP after FLC1[edit]

Creating a Work In Progress (WIP) section per the suggestion at the end of the FLC procedure. Here tasks to improve the list can be mentioned & discussed (feel free to add tasks and/or comment on tasks listed by others). --Francis Schonken (talk) 06:46, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tasks:

  1. currently recording venues have been removed from the first column, but there are still a few in the third column. I'd put them all in the first column (the caption of which would then read "recording" again, or "date – venue"); this might also be the best place to slip in the studio/live qualifier, so that readers who have used the sort function still can recognise, for every row, to which of these two categories the recording belongs. So, a cell in the first column might read, for instance, "9–14, 28 October 1975; studio (Munich)" or "19 May 1986; live (Tokyo)", or, alternatively "9–14, 28 October 1975; Munich (studio)" or "19 May 1986; Tokyo (live)"; or mention, in a legend, for instance, that recordings are "live" unless marked "studio", or use a background colour for studio recordings (etc, there are surely still other possibilities). --Francis Schonken (talk) 06:46, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Column widths & non-breaking spaces: systems regulating column widths need to be set up in a way that has satisfactory results on an as wide variety of screen widths as possible. In the second column I now get "Beethoven: Symphony No." on one line, the only content of the next line being "5" or another number. I'd suggest to apply a {{nowrap}} around "Symphony No. 5". A nowrap around "Beethoven: Symphony No. 5" might be possible too, but this would be regulating the column width (at least on smaller screens): that's why column widths and non-breaking spaces are usually best addressed as connected issues. --Francis Schonken (talk) 06:46, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
