Some proposed changes[edit]

Extended content

Information to be removed: [Badge of former LFDTS]

Information to be added: [CADTC patch] (shared with the WWII’s 1st Canadian Corps: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formation_Patches_of_the_Canadian_Army#/media/File:I_Canadian_Corps_formation_patch.png )

Explanation of issue: LFDTS badge no longer used. This brings us in line with Wiki pages for Canadian Army divisions, which use their patch as visual identifier (eg - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2nd_Canadian_Division)

References supporting change: http://www.army-armee.forces.gc.ca/en/doctrine-training/index.page, http://www.army-armee.forces.gc.ca/en/news-publications/national-news-details-no-menu.page?doc=canadian-army-honours-second-world-war-formations/igmfnytw

Information to be removed: Major-General Simon Hetherington

Information to be added: Major-General Stephen M. Cadden, CD

Explanation of issue: Change of Commander

References supporting change: http://www.army-armee.forces.gc.ca/en/doctrine-training/index.page

Information to be removed: “In addition, the headquarters provides support to the Commander of the Canadian Army through several different directorates including:

  • Chief of Staff Army Training Authority
  • The Army Lessons Learned Centre
  • The Influence Activities Task Force”

Explanation of issue: IATF now belongs to the Canadian Combat Support Brigade. Listing the other smaller centres/units probably not required.

Information to be removed: [entirety of Canadian Army Command and Staff College paragraph, including courses offered]

Information to be added: “The Canadian Army Command and Staff College (CACSC) is located in historic Fort Frontenac at CFB Kingston, Ont. It is the intellectual home of the Canadian Army and is tasked with training Army officers to perform command and staff functions. The CACSC is also the Centre of Excellence for Army's Formation Operations and Land Targeting. The college is responsible for preparing formation headquarters to deploy on operations, at home or overseas.”

Explanation of issue: Improved wording and updated. Updated courses will be listed on CACSC’s own article.

Information to be removed: "As well, PSTC is responsible for Information Operations training. Courses delivered by the Peace Support Training Centre include:

  • Pre-Deployment Training
  • Military Observer Course
  • Hazardous Environment Training
  • Civil-Military Cooperation Operator
  • Civil-Military Cooperation Staff Officer
  • Psychological Operations Operator
  • Psychological Operations Target Audience Analyst
  • Psychological Operations Staff officer
  • Information Operations"

Explanation of issue: Updated courses will be listed on PSTC’s own article, avoiding redundancy.

Information to be removed: “Due to the 2013 change of name, the CADTC still makes use of the old LFDTS badge.”

Explanation of issue: Doesn’t make sense, and the LFDTS badge is no longer used.
