Move from Cammac[edit]

Noticed this article was moved in 2007 from the previous name "Cammac" to Canadian Amateur Musicians, putative reason given was policy on acronyms. Haven't been able to find the relevant policy, but I gather article names are supposed to use the most common English name. Would think therefore Cammac is the better name since this is what the organization uses to refer to itself, and how others speak about it. Failing that, "Canadian Amateur Musicians / Musiciens Amateurs du Canada", since the bilingual nature of the name is an integral part of the philosophy of the organization. CAMMAC Ontario[edit]

I don't know if CAMMAC still has an Ontario connection. See CAMMAC website and the fact that CAMMAC Ontario Music Centre has been renamed Lake Field Music.--User:Brenont (talk) 04:42, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't know the details, but the Lake Field connection in any case seems looser (though there is still a Cammac logo at one place on its main page). However, Cammac does definitely continue to have a Toronto chapter with activities during the year, so there is still an Ontario connection of some sort. Martinp (talk) 14:35, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
