Butterton became an independent civil parish in 1866[edit]
"In 1966, however, the parish broke up into smaller segments, and so now Butterton is a parish of its own."[10]
This quote misinterprets the reference given in the footnote and also disagrees with the data given in A Vision of Britain through Time.
