Half brother of Joe Rogan[edit]

Bryan & Joe are not half brothers. Joe Rogan, when trying to explain how close they were, said that Bryan was his "brother from another mother." Someone took this literally & it eventually found its way to IMBD.com. IMBD is the only place that the Bryan Callen and Joe Rogan articles cited. An article on AllBusiness.com says, "Joe Rogan and Bryan Callen met on the set of the Fox Television sketch comedy series MAD-TV, on which Callen used to be a regular performer and Rogan was once a guest star. A friendship bloomed, based on their common admiration for the martial arts, pitbulls, women, and especially standup comedy, which both of them continue to perform." There is no mention of them being long lost half brothers. http://www.allbusiness.com/services/amusement-recreation-services/4368067-1.html

On SuperiorPics.com, it says, "Joe has been widely reported as the half-brother of comedian Bryan Callen. He disclosed in a radio interview that he refers to Callen as his “brother from another mother” to explain how close they relationships are." http://www.superiorpics.com/joe_rogan/

Joe's profile on IMDB was updated to say, "Although widely reported to be true, Bryan Callen is not his half brother." http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0736579/bio

I am removing this "fact" from both this page and Joe Rogan's page. 71.225.210.77 (talk) 14:18, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace[edit]

Where was he born? The current article and the previous incarnation of the infobox said Manila, Phillipines. I assume they used his IMDB profile as a source. I'm guessing the editor who removed it from the infobox was working from his website which says he was born in New York. I'm going to remove this information from the article as well until the discrepancy is resolved.Willcrys 84 (talk) 14:55, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

--hey check out Joe rogan's podcast on itunes #69 around the 2hour mark, Bryan talks about his childhood, what you have on this page is wrong. was born in Philipenes then Pakistan then Lebanon then Saudi, wasnt 14 yrs until he lived in the US for the first time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.215.246.81 (talk) 09:47, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is his ethnicity listed as "Philippine"? That's not even a valid ethnicity, rather the word would be Filipino. But Callen sounds more Irish-American than Filipino. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.255.169.111 (talk) 01:14, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Caroline in the City[edit]

Is it really true that he played himself for 97 episodes on Caroline in the City (as the filmography says)? Barton Fink —Preceding undated comment added 19:52, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Poor sources and adspeak[edit]

Regarding this edit:

Some of these many, many sources seem questionable or even completely unusable. Event listings, for examples, are almost always unreliable, as they either come from publicists, or they are quickly hacked together based on Wikipedia itself, which is a WP:CIRC issue. The article needs reliable sources, not just more links.

Likewise, the article still uses a lot of promotional language. As one example, again as just one example among many: The Fighter and the Kid podcast has charted in multiple countries across the world is vague and WP:PEACOCKish. Was this #1 in China? Was this #59 in St. Kitts and Nevis? Who cares? Find a reliable, independent source and summarize what it says in neutral language, using an appropriate WP:TONE. Thanks. @Soliantu: Please make sure all the sources you are adding are reliable for a WP:BLP. Thanks. Grayfell (talk) 20:36, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Grayfell: I definitely see what you mean regarding the promotional language. I’m not sure who wrote it this way originally. I will look for more solid sources, I’ve removed the event listings in the meantime. -Soliantu

Bryan Callen is an assassin for hire training in many martial arts backgrounds and is notorious for his tactical shotgun work. Terrapin11 (talk) 08:35, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that the word "initiated" in third line in the entry's introductory paragraph be changed to "began" or "started." The verb "to initiate" is not used as it has been in the sentence "Callen initiated his career as one of the original cast members...." 2001:1713:EA72:6CB0:701A:E3B6:2A4B:7A3C (talk) 16:28, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
