Brothers has opened to good response in India and the morning shows opened to approximately 40 to 50% occupancy in India. Brothers grossed ₹15.2 crore (US$1.9 million) on the first day of its release in India. Due to words of mouth it went on to gross ₹21.5 crore (US$2.7 million) on Saturday and ₹30.2 crore (US$3.8 million) on first Sunday to take the first weekend total to ₹66.9 crore (US$8.4 million)."Akshay Kumar" has broken his previous two-day box-office record at the box office. The earlier best two-day box office collection record for an Akki movie was held by "Rowdy Rathore", which had minted Rs 29 crore.
