What this is[edit]

It appears some people have a misconception of what this is. This is Wikipedia's encyclopedia article on the school. It is not the school's page on Wikipedia. This is not social media. The purpose of this page is not to inform students or locals of what is available at the school. That is what the school's webpage is for. An encyclopedia is a tertiary source. That means that, except for the most mundane of material, everything here has to be verifiable to a reliable source, independent of the school. It is not a directory. It is not a newspaper.

What does that mean?

Unless you can provide a reliable source, independent of the school, leave it out.
For information like bond issues, controversies, etc, unless you can show with reliable sources that it was covered over time by sources removed from the general area the school is located, leave it out.
Information that is directory in nature, we do not include. That includes description of curriculum, grad rates, listings of clubs. Listings of sports offered are allowed, as coverage of sports in the US is a given. However, we only list achievements of the highest level and only team achievements. That means anything less than a team state championship, we do not include. You can reference a listing of athletic teams (or academic teams, or fine arts programs, such as band) to the school, but an independent source would be preferred (For Wisconsin, a good choice would be the WIAA). Any achievement MUST have an independent source. Again, we don't care what the school has to say about itself.

Students and alumni are welcomed and encouraged to edit this article, but only if you can keep the above in mind. Otherwise, you will be in violation of our policies on conflicts of interest.

If there are disagreements over content, they should be brought to this talk page and discussed until a consensus is reached. Please do not just replace it. Come here, and make arguments based in reliable sources and informed by Wikipedia policies and guidelines, until either one side is persuaded or a compromise is reached. That is how Wikipedia exercises editorial control and it works. Keep on topic, don't take it or make it personal, and it usually works. If it doesn't, there are dispute reconciliation mechanisms available.
