Merge?[edit]

Should this be merged into British_Rail_Class_252?

No. Class 252 refers to the whole train for the period when it was classified as a DEMU. The two power cars were originally built as Class 41. The situation with production power cars is similar, the sets were reclassified as Class 253, 253 and 255 DEMUs, but then reclassified back to Class 43 for operational reasons (effectively TOPS wouldn't allow a set to be routed if it had been split). Incorrect height?[edit]

I can't see how this train is 5.77m, 3.77 sounds more likely. Can anyone prove me right or wrong? Lukeno94 (talk) 10:22, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can prove you right and wrong. It's actually 3.81 m to the top of the roof excluding projections, 3.91 m overall. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:27, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

41001 runs under its own power[edit]

Unfortunately I wasn't there so I'm not offering to make any contributions (as they'd just be hearsay) but there were some great videos uploaded yesterday (31st May) showing 41001 finally running under its own power now that the traction motors have been rebuilt.
