"He travelled over"?[edit]

"He travelled over from Australia with Alan Jones but did not enjoy his countryman's success." Where did he "travel over" to? The UK?

This is just one example of an open-ended and unreferenced "fact" from this article which contributes to it being (when read out of context of any related motor sport articles) hard to read, with confusing details, and no sources referenced.

I would recommend the { {cleanup-importance} } tag being returned to this article.

Point taken on the "travelled over" sentence - yes, he travelled over to the UK from Australia - article adjusted to this effect. Open-ended? In what sense? Hard to read - I don't accept that. Apart from the fact that very few people without a scrap of knowledge of the sport would be reading it anyway, everything is clear. It's daft to precis the history of motor sport in the context of Brian McGuire's involvement for the sake of a very minor article. Confusing details? Like what? I'm afraid I just can't see what anyone might find confusing about it.

Unreferenced yes, but this information is available in practically any F1 source with the appropriate scope. I could pick one at random but I feel it would be rather perfunctory. There are dozens and dozens of similar articles on racing drivers that do not quote sources for such general information. Bretonbanquet 00:31, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merging[edit]

I'm proposing that McGuire (Formula One), the page about McGuire the constructor, should be merged with the driver article. The constructor article is a one-paragraph stub, and to be honest, I don't think it can grow much. McGuire wasn't actually a constructor, he only modified an existing Williams FW04 which he raced himself, mostly in British events.
