Outdated?[edit]

Far be it from me to defend an Italian machine gun design, but the Breda-SAFAT guns were quite good and it isn't really fair to say that the gun itself was outdated because Italian aircraft of the time were designed to carry too few of them. The deficiency is on the part of the aircraft, not the guns.--172.129.32.171 (talk) 09:53, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. They keep making a big deal about how underpowered the Italian aircraft were when they had two .50 cal MGs and often two rifle caliber MGs. Many nations had only rifle caliber MGs in 1940, so how were the Italian aircraft underpowered with the Breda? Syrian use[edit]

While there are easy to verify photographs of the Breda-SAFAT mounted on Syrian StuG III tank destroyers before and during the Six Day War, I was unable to find a good looking reference link to reference in the main article. As such, I just wanted to make note of the photographs here in case my recent inclusion of Syrian service is contested in editing, and in case anyone wants photographic sources of their use.
