Warm-up match against France 2022[edit]

The match against France on 27 October is not considered a full international because the full squad played in the game. That is more than 17 players or more than 18 in situations where a concussion substitute was permitted to take the field.

By comparison the Canada vs Ireland match on 25 October is considered a full international as it was 17 players per side (albeit with an 18th on standby).

I do hope that is sufficient explanation.

@Nhoj1898: Nowhere in the the reference provided for the note (Ref 11) does it say that the match did not count as a full international, in fact ERL classified it as a "Women's International" if you read the report. In general, friendlies do not always keep to a substitution limit unless they are officially designated as a test match. Mn1548 (talk) 22:19, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

True, but the use of the term Women's International doesn't necessarily mean that the match should be treated as a full international.

I'm wary of doing do given the use of ten players on the bench by both teams.

A tweet from the Rugby League Record Keepers Club on October 25 did describe the Brazil v France match match as NOT being a full international. This was in response to my suggestion that Ireland v Canada being 17 (or 18 with concussion substitute) per side indicated that it would a full international.

I collaborated with Neil from RLRKC prior to the tournament to provide details of the past 5 Women's World Cups. Primarily this was providing information on the 2003 World Cup (scorers taken from a NZRL almanac which I had gotten an image copy from the NZ National Library and the 2008 World Cup - scorers I had gathered from newspaper reports accessed via NewsBank and by watching the YouTube videos of the Kiwi Ferns matches to identify players. The collaboration included past players and current staff of NZRL Kiwi Ferns and other contacts in England.
