Deeper history[edit]

While this article is informative for the later history of Branscomb, it tends to leave the other first inhabitants. There was at least one band of Cahto Natives located behind the Stanley Park. Also, before Branscombs arrived the area was called Jackson Valley. My 2nd great grandfather Andrew Atkesson arrived around the 1860's and built the first wooden structure for a home and another early settler was a man named Wolf. He lived in a hallowed out redwood tree- referred to as a'goosepen'. Andrew Atkesson had a young woman named Lucy Cook for a "House keeper" from which my great grandmother was born, Annie Atkesson. Both are buried in a family cemetery in that original homestead. I think this was an important point if one wants to mention history. 98.97.117.47 (talk) 01:12, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
