Untitled[edit]

'Twas I who flagged part of the article's text for tone. I think the reason is fairly obvious, but then who expects a great deal of intelligence from a chicken? Smerdis of Tlön 15:15, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal?[edit]

The comment, that chickens don't possess intelligence, is somewhat silly. Even domesticated birds can be smarter or dumber based on breed. The tag should be removed.

I agree. Additionally, the American Standard of Perfection for poultry is quoted and used to discuss appearance, and yet the pictures you have are of two birds from EUROPE, both with major disqualifying flaws. Most obvious is the fault known as "vulture hocks" and second is the poor color and penciling. This is an attrocious entry all in all. If I knew how to fix it, I would.......

This page as a whole should not be removed however it does need major editing. I have edited one of the sections and may do more work on it again soon. The photograph of the light brahma with the vulture hocks should be removed because it is not representative of the breed. I will try to get a replacement picture that shows good conformation.Upfoamer (talk) 02:04, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the page shouldn't be removed. However, that picture of the light Brahma pullet with the vulture hocks really should be removed. It's a major disqualification that would definitely be dropped at any show, and as someone who loves the breed, it's a little irritating. If nothing else, you should be able to get hold of a picture from the Standards.209.218.8.102 (talk) 03:03, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Crele[edit]

Term is correct, see [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aurornisxui (talkcontribs) 16:48, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

crele - a typo?[edit]

crele seems to be a typo but it is not obvious what it should be - can anyone figure out what it should be? (from Wikipedia:Correct typos in one click). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bellowhead678 (talkcontribs) 01:09, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bellowhead678, it's not a typo – see the List of chicken colours linked from the word "varieties" in that section. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:08, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
