This page is ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.32.31.245 (talk) 00:35, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the past two comments. This is not an encyclopedia entry. I recently began boxing and came here to learn more, but the sentences read more like a magazine. I do not know enough to correct it. Example: If the out-boxer represents everything classy about boxing, the slugger (also brawler) often stands for everything that's brutal in the sport. This is not proper diction. -S — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.18.191.138 (talk) 02:16, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Movie examples[edit]

Would it be worth including as an example of rock paper scissors, fictional movie fights like Rocky Balboa vs Apollo Creed? Creed was almost certainly representative of an out-boxer style of fighting and Balboa (at first) was a slugger. It can also be noted that Balboa's style evolved throughout the series. One shortcoming I suppose, is that Creed vs. Balboa II resulted in a slugger beating an out-boxer, although by that time both were more hybrid than the first movie. DaltonCastle (talk) 02:22, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Holyfield as a boxer-puncher, not a slugger.[edit]

Holyfield seems like the archetypal boxer-puncher. 81.166.178.85 (talk) 00:19, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
