Boof or Boofing is an action in which at a sporting event fans will yell out the word "boof" to either:

Distract an opponent, who may be taking a foul shot at a basketball game, or taking a PK in soccer.

Or it may be used in the sense of being knocked out,or hit hard, such as in hockey or any other contact sport.

It's orgins of this use of word comes from the Boof Crew in Coventry, CT.
