Untitled[edit]

I met Bob Gibson in 1990, and he stayed at our home on a few occasions. During the early 1990s he played at the Club Passims in Cambridge, Massachusetts and The Old Vienna Coffeehouse in Westborough, Massachusetts. He was sober at that time, and his drink of choice was Diet Coke. To me, he still had "the magic" with his 12-string guitar. JJ 15:33, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In the early 60's Bob lived amongst friends in Chesterland,OH. Mostly made up of our community church, there were "sings" every weekend. It's a vague memory but I recall that he may have joined those sings. He left abrubtly, leaving his music behind. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.177.3.39 (talk) 02:03, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gibson had problems with both drugs and alchohol. Why did 219.89.130.75 delete the references to alcohol? I may revert, but I'd like to have a discussion first. JJ 00:22, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Which songs did he write (or introduce) that other artists (particularly the K-trio) recorded? Hayford Peirce 00:29, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'll do some research, and add some information of his (significant) influence. Thanks for the question. JJ 01:12, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering this as well - 15 years later. Just a thought, since various encyclopedias etc. note of the big influence he was on acts that came after, without being at all specific... Tony 1212 (talk) 22:24, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How to link to Meridian Green?[edit]

Meridian Green's page points here (makes sense since she's his daughter) but Bob Gibson does not link back. I'm not sure how we would go about linking, especially since the article currently says very little about his personal life.

Anyone have a suggestion? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.139.162.224 (talk) 23:18, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We need a section on his personal life. I will try to research this. JJ (talk) 15:46, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
For now, I stuck in a one-sentence section "Family" linking to Meridian Green. Obviously a bit more about this would be better. Herostratus (talk) 17:24, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing John Prine recently on stephen colbert (4/12/18) and being a long time fan and performer of his tunes, so glad to find this BG link from JP's wiki page.. the 'girl' Shel writes of would be Leslie Korshak.. they all knew each other in Chicago.. she was w/ Bob, looked after him, up there in Mendocino, Calif area.. i can attest to all that.. and of course, so too can his daughter Meridian. Leslie's website is entitled, "Whistlers and Jugglers". She had so many great stories re: Bob, Chicago, Shel, etc. And you can find more info re: the Meridian Green, Gene Parsons (of the Byrds) music duo Parsons Green over at her wiki page, many URL's re: Mendocino locals and her own website. 2600:1700:A760:C10:9837:A1A8:63CA:89A6 (talk) 04:44, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

article quality[edit]

very lacking, guy deserves better. lots of bias, and way too personal for WP. may try to fix.(mercurywoodrose)50.193.19.66 (talk) 15:52, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That'd be great, thanks! Let me know if you need any assistance, technical or otherwise. Herostratus (talk) 17:24, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

that pic[edit]

Dang that pic, it's kind of creepy. I don't know as I want to get that up close and personal with any of our subjects. I have not seen this elsewhere. Is there a more normal pic. Herostratus (talk) 03:17, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
