Types[edit]

The article does not explain why System.UInt16 is blittable while System.Char is not.

Origin of Blittable[edit]

What is the etymology of the term blittable? Bit blit seems to refer to graphics applications, so Block-transfer instruction seems most likely. —Ost (talk) 15:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
