Untitled[edit]

I recommend expanding this article or at least marking it as a stub. Though the current content leaves a lot to be desired, Bird Watcher's Digest is a major publication in the birding community, and is a legitimate subject for an article.KoopLaFez 19:52, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Editing[edit]

This article read like a publicity piece from the company so I edited out material that isn't germane to the magazine itself and its contents. Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 21:59, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hawk Mountain[edit]

The article mentions Hawk Mountain but doesn't say what festival is held there or when. Does anyone here know and if so, could they supply this information? Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 22:05, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Initial mailing and current circulation[edit]

From the article: "Knowing very little about publishing, the Thompsons mailed out 32,000 copies of their first magazine in September 1978."

Is this the right number -- 32,000? That's a lot of magazines -- were they going to bookstores? libraries? birding groups? Also, I think this article needs the magazine's current circulation number. Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 22:09, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions[edit]

I think this would be a better article if there was more information about the magazine itself, major stories (don't go overboard), regular articles that appear in every issue, that sort of thing. I'd also add two or three more covers to the bottom of the article.

Is there more information about "Backyard Bird Newsletter"? I think that would be interesting.

And how about some indication of who subscribes to and buys the magazine -- birders, libraries, scientific associations. etc.
