Did he ever actually say it?[edit]

Supposedly (according to the NYT obituary), Bill Epton's trial settled the question of whether it was constitutional to say 'burn, baby, burn'. However, I can't find it stated anywhere that he actually said those words. Is there any source that reliably attributes them to him, or is it just a widespread misconception?
