"Big Red on the salt"[edit]

The picture "Big Red on the salt" does not show the Big Red. Most probably it's the Silver Bird. The article Yamaha/Don Vesco streamliner on "classicyams.com" states that this machine has been designed in 1973. ----130.83.197.103 (talk) 10:02, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Other than the paint, what leads you to think that it is not Big Red? They are both #11. Silver Bird was #1. — Brianhe (talk) 16:19, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Have a look on it: First forget about numbers. Big Red did also have #111 (see Gyronaut X-1 homepage). Second there is the acuity of the nose. Third Big Red's canopy was hinged at its side ("photobucket.com"), whereas the followers had canopies hinged at the front . Fourth the canopy was higher and had a very characteristical hump behind itself. ----130.83.197.103 (talk) 09:02, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Your observations are persuasive. I'll revert myself and take the unidentified vehicle out of the article. — Brianhe (talk) 20:06, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the photobucket link - it's nice to see the Kimtabs on the Don Sliger double-engined bike--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 17:33, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
