Wheeler and Woolsey as an act[edit]

My understanding is that Wheeler and Woolsey were first paired up by Ziegfeld for a Broadway play and, subsequently, for a film adaptation of that play. The partnership, as we know, was sustained for many subsequent films; but they became a de facto "team" through the success of the first few properties they were cast in together, rather than having previously teamed up on their own to develop an act together. (I believe Wheeler's rise to stardom had been in the context of an act with his then wife.) The initial section of the article should possibly be revised to reflect this history, rather than suggesting that they were one of the many acts that worked their way up to fame as an existing team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jcejhay (talkcontribs) 20:11, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
