I think it is discussed elsewhere in the pages of Wikipedia that former supreme court clerks are notable in that accomplishment alone. See List of law clerks of the Supreme Court of the United States. This guy also has some serious academic credentials. You will not find the unclear importance category on any other articles of professors less notable than this guy.
