Looting[edit]

The term has a strong negative connotation and is generally reserved for taking personal belongings from a helpless victim/corpse. Enemy military hardware is captured, not looted. --Illythr (talk) 23:52, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What does "Released" mean?[edit]

"The Russian monument was released" shoudl this be installed OR does it mean something else ? Wakelamp (talk) 05:35, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected as "installed". "Release" was Finglish. Peltimikko (talk) 08:50, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Motti tactics[edit]

I am removing a sentence in the introduction about the effectiveness of the motti tactics. This is not explicitly mentioned in the text of the article. Perhaps someone who understands the subject matter could update the main text so that the there is a mention of motti tactics. Rjm at sleepers (talk) 07:43, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"The fate of the Soviet 44th Division remained unmentioned in Soviet historiography for decades.[17]"[edit]

Here I have the 1968 book by Sergei Shtemenko ... and it mentions the story - although in merely two paragraphs, including the shooting of Vinogradov but excluding the number of casualties. Perhaps the quoted phrase should be changed to (a) mentioned -> described, and (b) historiography -> public historiography. Many "unknown" battles were actually described in classified academic books and papers, but few of them were ever released to general public. Keep the short📝description concise[edit]

I fine-tuned the description a little bit, to align it better in accordance with letter limit guidelines. ToniTurunen (talk) 22:51, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
