Redoubt Hill position[edit]

It is unclear to me if Redoubt Hill was to the east or west of Flatbush Road, sources seem to be contradictory, and quite how the topography has been artificially altered from then to now.--Pharos (talk) 15:04, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

1876 monument source at Brooklyn College[edit]

Roads[edit]

I can't quite figure out which roads crossed around Flatbush Pass besides Flatbush Road, and what they were called. Also, the location and history of the toll-house.--Pharos (talk) 17:01, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Battle PassBattle Pass (Brooklyn) – As much as I don't like to put abstract concepts over real life things, I believe that battle pass is the clear primary topic for the upper-case version as well. The idea of a "Battle Pass" is often capitalized, as with the well-known example in Fortnite, so WP:DIFFCAPS doesn't apply in this case. As an example, see this article, which capitalizes Battle Pass like a proper noun. Pageviews for the gaming concept are massively higher than the historic pass. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 23:13, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per WP:DIFFCAPS. There is already a hatnote on this article, and since there are only 2 possibilities, the only thing a dab page would do is create an extra step for those seeking the actual pass with no benefit to those few seeking the video-game sense. The fact that pageviews for the lower case article are 25x higher than upper case means that an absolute maximum of 4% of readers looking for the gaming sense are typing capitals, and that assumes no one is looking for the actual pass. So there doesn't seem to be a problem with large numbers of readers seeking the gaming concept through Battle Pass. And it's at least as likely someone seeking the real Battle Pass would not bother typing capitals than someone seeking the gaming concept would unnecessarily type capitals, so there's also no evidence for a PRIMARYREDIRECT. • Support - the article about the video game concept (at the lowercase title) is clearly the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC since it does have 25 times the number of pageviews as this article. WP:DIFFCAPS states Ambiguity may arise when typographically near-identical expressions have distinct meanings. I think that is the case here. Moving the page about the less popular article (Battle Pass in Brooklyn), and adding a hatnote from the more popular article (the generic battle pass), should help readers.
As for Station1's point that people who search for the article about the place in Brooklyn are deliberately typing capitals, that may not necessarily be the case anymore, with the growing use of voice-search products such as Google Voice Search or Amazon Alexa. Since voice searches are case-insensitive, it may be likely that people looking for one article may be directed to the other article (and this can go both ways). – Epicgenius (talk) 13:04, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support I feel that the capitalization is more deserving for the video game monetization strategy, as it is a lot more popular on Wikipedia.Since this is less known, the clarification will make the articles topic a lot clearer, and the video game concept easier to find.
