In the history section, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangladesh_Air_Force#History it says "Almost entirely all BAF flight and aviation equipment and gear that was acquired with the nations independence was taken by the Indian armed forces.Bangladesh Air Force History"

What does this mean ? India took away all of BAF's flight equipment ? That sounds strange as India supplied most of the weapons and aircraft in the first place. and the reference has no information on this. Perhaps it meant "taken from India" and not "taken by India" ?

any on from bangladesh air force?

Bangladesh Air Force uses a wide area network at its each Base. But the problem is still in this technological age our force using somewhere dial up networking which brings us a lot of problem to get information properly and keeping our page updated. So i like to say my commentary to use ADSL modem everywhere which will cost only 15000/- tk for per ADSL modem.

ANY ONE FORM BANGLADESH AIR FORCE?

Certain wrong information

certain wrong information is provided without any credible evidence and hence it is being removed. --Chanakyathegreat 14:06, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

some anti-Banlgadesh fanatic is trying to replace 'Banlgadesh' with 'Bangalistan' throughout the article. -- Wikisopher 17:22, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Someone keeps adding that su-30s, Mi-24s and Mi-26s are being operated by the BAF, althought there is no evidence to support that. Furthermore the numbers of aircraft like the F-7 and the A-5 appear exaggerated. -- Muntasir Azam Khan (talk) 21:19, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Number of all types of aircraft in BAF inventory are not supported by reference. Some of the numbers might be exaggerated while others appears unreliable. Qgr (talk) 11:04, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I have not seen any comment on BAF inventory after my last post, despite the numbers seems wayward. For example, as per sinodefence.com (link: http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/fighter/j7.asp), Bangladesh have imported total 32 Chengdu F-7 Airguard (14 F-7MB, 2 FT-7MB, 12 F-7BG and 4 FT-7BG) fighters. Now, to the best of my knowledge, Bangladesh bought all its F-7 aircraft directly from China and information provided in sinodefence.com are more or less reliable. Also, number of A-5C in active service with BAF 21st squadron is 18 and number of Mig-29 delivered initially to Bangladesh was 16 (as per Deagel, Link: http://www.deagel.com/Strike-and-Fighter-Aircraft/Mig-29_a000357001.aspx) as per most reliable sources. I thought its a good idea to share this in the discussion page before making any change in the article itself. If anyone have any observation, please share in the discussion page or correct the inventory with appropriate reference. Thanks Qgr (talk) 17:40, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Here is the most updated BAF inventory: (Link: 2009 Source Book). The only confusion may be with the number of Mig-29, which, BAF may have a higher number than what is mentioned in the source book. Qgr (talk) 12:57, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

History section

The history section need to be updated with the Shaheed (Martys) section. --Chanakyathegreat 14:07, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I've modified the officer ranks table since none of the insignia images were released under the GFDL licence, and wikipedia cannot carry images with more restrictive conditions, such as non-commercial use only, sorry, Jimfbleak.talk.08:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Unnecessary

Er, why is 2006 in Bangladesh added on the external links section? I think someone needs to cut some crap. I am afraid I might mess things up and get blocked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mansib Intisar Khan (talkcontribs) 14:16, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Number of MiG 29

The Aircraft inventory part shows that BAF has a total of 56 MiG-29s. Now i went to page referenced beside the number, the only information there says that Russia delivered 16 Mig-29s to Bangladesh, 8 in 1999 and 8 in 2000.

I think the number is mixed with that of the F-7s.--122.144.10.15 (talk) 05:42, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Well done

Developing into a credible article despite being written by authors with English as their second language. Still a fair way to go particularly with the Grammar and style.Petebutt (talk) 18:56, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

User:Bobrayner's removals

Hello User:Bobrayner! Could you explain why you removed the navigation template from the article twice (Exhibit A, Exhibit B)? Did you mean to remove the table on Small Arms by any chance? Also, why did you remove the script formatting in the lede? I look forward to your response. Thanks, AnupamTalk 17:16, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

I'm glad you were able to address the real issue here. Cheers, AnupamTalk 18:47, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
There seems to have been a problem with table markup. That table shouldn't have been in the article for a number of reasons, but the markup problem caused it to appear at the bottom of the article, leading me to the silly notion that it was actually transcluded in from a template (it's been done before). Problem solved now, hopefully...? bobrayner (talk) 23:48, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Dear User:Bobrayner, not a problem. In my first comment here, I mentioned the small arms table as the one that you probably meant to remove. It seems like you took care of it! I sincerely wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! With regards, AnupamTalk 01:10, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Su-35ME/Su-30SME order 8 and An-32 Bomber/Mil-17 order 5 news is Fake News

Please stop your Su-35ME/Su-30SME order 8 and An-32 Bomber 3/Mil-17 order 5 Fake News Aww Zar Ar Nar (talk) 22:05, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

You'll need to provide a source stating otherwise FOX 52 (talk) 01:08, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
FOX 52 About the Su-35 order: The link from Aerotime says about Su-30SE, not Su-35. So, either remove the source or change the content from Su-35 to Su-30. I don't know what the reference from flightglobal says as I could not access it. And, I don't think the news about Su-30/35 is true as no Bangladeshi or Russian media or any reputed international defence media reported about it. SRS 00 t@lk, 11:04, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
This user is promoting Russian fighter jet in Bangladesh Air Force Wikipage. Anything promotional material violates Wiki rules. Stop adding Russian fighter jet in Bangladesh Air Force inventory. This is the official inventory baf.mil.bd of Bangladesh Air Force. If you continue to add materials from an unreliable source and promote fighter jets, you will be banned from editing. Please do not edit Bangladesh Air Force wikipage. Please find a mainstream website for reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Microsoftguru (talk contribs) 01:49, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
@MilborneOne: Can you have a look see, dealing with some disruptive irrational edit warring from 3 possible socks User:Pilu Don User:Tribalact, and User:Microsoftguru - Regards FOX 52 (talk) 03:09, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
I have protected the article to encourage discussion, I have also considered that the current inventory should actually be deleted as it is covered by List of active Bangladesh military aircraft, note I have changed List of active aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force to a redirect. When the current inventory is deleted it would be helpful if somebody could spend time in a reliable sourced prose summary to replace it, probably more constructive then edit warring. Tender of UAS

@SRS 00: Can you please explain your revert here? It was reverted by me per WP:NOTNEWS. This is an encyclopedia not a news website. Thus issuing of a new tender for an existing program does not warrant enough to make an addition. When the order is place, it can be added. Adamgerber80 (talk) 17:26, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Agreed, please do not place "Potential" order in the article - FOX 52 (talk) 17:42, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
I reverted it because the article currently contains news about issuing tender of UAS. If the tender for first batch can be in the article, why not the tender of the second batch? Again, issuing a tender generally results in placing order. SRS 00 t@lk, 17:58, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
Then the first part should also be removed. I have to check for WP:GNG on that before removing. Plus your comment on the revert did not make any sense. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 18:06, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Bangladesh Air Force

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Bangladesh Air Force's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
