Japan in History[edit]

Untitled[edit]

I question the reason for stating the Japanese dynamically balancing robot in 1994, which was a Segway type of robot. We're talking about Ballbots in this chapter, not Segway robots. It seems misleading to open the section up with that statement. Better to talk about the first true Ballbot and then can give some background on the Segway types if someone feels it is necessary. Neutrality?[edit]

This page seems to dwell a lot on how great Prof. Hollis (and some of the other engineers) are. It should be about the technology. People involved deserve some mention but the "ballbots around the world" overemphasizes them when the article is supposed to be about the bots themselves. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.205.250.4 (talk) 15:23, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BB8?[edit]

Does BB8 from Star Wars count? The character is a fictional robot, but it was created using a practical prop, and there are toy versions that balance on a ball. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.163.102.161 (talk) 05:59, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
