Single vs. Song[edit]
I realize there is an ongoing discussion regarding the Single and Song templates (See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Songs#Infoboxes) but this song was not released as a single as far as I can tell through my research. I've looked on the Social Distortion website, Amazon, Billboard, Artist Direct, etc. and the only three "Singles" Social D apparently released were Mainliner/Playpen (1981), Another State of Mind (1983), 1945 (1985), Story of My Life...And Other Stories (1990), and Bad Luck (1992). - I realize this comment was from a year ago, but anyways...the band's official website [1] lists it as a single. Not 100% sure on the singles' chronology, will work on that next. Tarc 21:57, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Christian Themes[edit]
It is my opinion that Social Distortion's song Ball and Chain is Christian in theme. The "ball and chain" in the song refers to the narrator's sins, and he is praying for Jesus to take away his many sins. -- Jruml

Perhaps. In the liner notes on Live at the Roxy, Ness mentions that the song is like a prayer. But I don't think it was meant to be a Christian song. Stormwysper 22:21, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
